Psychedelic americana from the fringes of modern civilization. A tenant farmer’s folk-pop reflections on life & death during the fall of the Anthropocene.
“Hummingbird drinks jewelweed nectar outside my back door, to remind me what I’m here for: just to Be Here, and Nothing More.”
Bliss is the latest album from Sam Sycamore, host of the Good Life Revival Podcast. Written over the past two years, Bliss tells the story of a young man coming to terms with his place in the world in the face of love, grief, and the inevitability of death.
Recurring characters include the moon, the rain, the wind, and a cavalcade of dreams summoned up by the intensely humid heat of a southern Indiana summer. You can almost smell the Queen Anne’s Lace in bloom by the roadside.
Fans of the podcast will recognize some of these tunes from earlier iterations that have appeared on the show, but here they are presented fully formed for the first time: neatly polished like stones in a creek bed.
